Surgical Technologists possess expertise in the theory and application of sterile technique and combine knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, instrumentation tools, and technologies to facilitate a physician's performance.

The 2-year Surgical Technology program equips you to play a vital role in patient care and safety. As a surgical technologist, your duties involve: 

  • preparing patients for surgery
  • sterilizing instruments and supplies
  • actively participating in surgical procedures
  • managing pre and post-surgery cleanup

As part of the requirements to graduate, students must take the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) Certifying Examination for Surgical Technologists.
